If you are interested in joining our society it's really easy. Just turn up to one of our regular meetings and introduce yourself, you don't need to book or pay anything up front.
Our Meetings
We meet on the last Tuesday of most months. Meetings start at 7.30pm and usually close around 9pm, although you'll normally find someone around from about 7.15pm. Check out the programme to find the next meeting date and topics.
Meetings are fairly informal with plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions, seek advice and get to chat to other members. We start with a short round up of the month's astronomy and space news, have a short refreshments break and finish with a talk or demonstration of a specific topic which changes each month.
How to find us
We meet at S Joseph's Church Hall in the centre of Cockermouth, see the map below.

Membership Options
You don't need to worry about membership straight away. When you do there are two membership options;
You can 'pay as you go', a small sum each meeting you attend to help us cover the cost of hiring the hall.
OR
You can join as a Full Member, paying an annual fee (currently £15) which entitles you to attend all our meetings, vote in our Annual General Meeting and borrow certain society equipment such as books from our library or the society telescope.
If you need anything else just email info@cockermouthastronomy.co.uk

Jonathan,
DeleteThanks for your comment. You are more than welcome to bring your telescope along to one of our meetings. Alternatively bring it along to our Stargazing in Cockermouth event on 19th January in the afternoon. I hope that helps. I'm not sure we currently have any members from Keswick.
