Asteroid 2012 DA14 approach

LIVE video feed of the asteroid approach is available here.

Finder chart available at Heavens Above. The asteroid is approaching from the and will pass through The Plough at about 21:00h. You will need binoculars to see it.

  2. A bit late now, but that should have been "approaching from the south".

  3. Here is a shot of it (one of about a hundred)I took last night

    You can see how far it moved in the 5 second exposure. The horizontal streaks are spectra which hopefully will allow a comparison with the composition of other asteroids) I will make a video and bring it along to the meeting this month.
